New London Theatre opening in 2022

A run down of what new theatre shows are opening in London’s West End in 2022.

London is going to look very starry in 2022.

As news comes in of what’s going to open up on the London stage next year, we are seeing a high star quotient!

None more so than Cock – Mike Barlett’s play coming to the Ambassadors Theatre in March starring Bridgerton’s Jonathan Bailey and Hollywood movie star Taron Egerton (Rocketman, Kingsman).

Not to be outdone, a few days later Rafe Spall (Constellations) opens in the award-winning Broadway production ofTo Kill A Mockingbird (Gielgud Theatre), adapted for the stage by The West Wing’s Aaron Sorkin. And in April, Mark Rylance and Mackenzie Crook reprise their multi-award winning roles in Jezz Butterworth’s Jerusalem at the Apollo Theatre.

The following month, Hollywood royalty Amy Adams makes her West End debut over at the Duke of York’s Theatre, in Tennessee Williams’ masterpiece The Glass Menagerie.

And later in the year, in the Summer, the big-budget revival of Sister Act finally makes it to London’s Eventim Apollo in Hammersmith.

Other new shows for 2022 include the RSC’s new adaptation of My Neighbour Totoro at the Barbican Theatre; and Elf The Musical returning to London this Christmas season at the Dominion Theatre.
