London is one of the world’s great cities, with over 9 million people living within greater London, and millions more travelling to the UK capital each year.
London also has a great heritage in culture and the arts, with a world-class selection of museums and galleries including Tate Modern, the British Museum, the Royal Academy and the Victoria & Albert museum. Arts includes London’s theatre district, the West End, which houses over 50 theatres, playing a range of musicals, comedies and dramas night after night.
London is also a great city for walking, with a compact central district that means you can get around easily. Even if you only have one day, it is possible to walk around London’s history – from the Tower of London to Buckingham Palace; to its sights – such as the South Bank and London Eye, Trafalgar Square, and the Houses of Parliament; to its fabulous shopping districts, including Regent’s Street, Oxford Street, Bond Street and Covent Garden.
London also features great entertainment: from West End shows, to thousands of restaurants, bars and clubs, to concert halls, cinemas, ballrooms, ice skating rinks, and much more.
In this Visiting London guide we have tried to bring you a taste of what London has to offer, and we will continue to expand this guide with more information, plus London offers and discounts.
