What's the story of Punchdrunk: The Burnt City?

The Burnt City is a “future noir” retelling of the fall of Troy, with audiences experiencing the contrasting ancient worlds of Troy and Mycenae, with each world given a dystopian sci-fi twist, and where audiences will encounter gods, monsters, secret passageways and more.

The show will start as if people are entering a slick museum tour, but are then plunged into a neon-lit ancient Troy inspired by Fritz Lang’s classic movie Metropolis. In one building, Troy will feature alleys, palaces, a hotel and an opera house; and the world of Mycenae, in an adjacent building, will be of a similar scale.

“As the smoke soars on wings to heaven, so sinks our city”. In the smouldering promise of the fall of Troy, a mythical world of Gods and mortals rises from the ashes. As Greece teeters on the brink of victory, the neon backstreets of Downtown Troy give way to a sprawling labyrinth hiding secrets even the prophecies could not foretell. In this colossal playground, the furies watch on as mortals play out their fate. And as night falls, the city comes alive. One last time.

Who are the creative team of Punchdrunk: The Burnt City?
