Expect theatrical antics from the show’s affable hosts as they bring their infectious love of words to the stage with all the trademark repartee and wordplay of the podcast. More about Susie Dent
Susie Dent is an English lexicographer, etymologist, author and media personality. She currently co-hosts the podcast Something Rhymes With Purple with Giles Brandreth and appears on 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, a post-watershed comedy version of the show presented by comedian Jimmy Carr. She has appeared in “Dictionary Corner” on the Channel 4 game show Countdown since 1992. Susie also posts, much followed Twitter social ‘word of the day’.

Brandreth has appeared in the Dictionary Corner on the game show Countdown, QI, Have I Got News for You, Room 101, The Gadget Show, TV-am’s Good Morning Britain and is a contributor to the BBC’s early evening programme The One Show. He appeared in series 1 & 2 of Celebrity Goggle Box and the two-episode series fo Great Canal Journeys.
Since the 1970s, Brandreth has written books for adults and children about Scrabble, words, puzzles and jokes, and co-founded the Games & Puzzles magazine. He has also written fiction and books on the royal family. He was a Conservative member of parliament from 1992 to 1997.
