Presenters at this year’s Olivier Awards to include Cush Jumbo, Sheridan Smith, Lea Salonga, Luke Evans, Milly Alcock, Matthew Bourne and Anne Reid
The Society of London Theatre has announced more details of its annual Olivier Awards, taking place this Sunday 2 April 2023 at the Royal Albert Hall in London.
Stars presenting this year’s awards will include Milly Alcock (The Crucible), Sheila Atim, Darcey Bussell, Luke Evans, Eddie Izzard (Great Expectations), Tim Minchin (Matilda The Musical), Lea Salonga (Stephen Sondheim’s Old Friends), Sheridan Smith (Shirley Valentine), Mark Strong, Dita Von Teese, Aimee Lou Wood (Cabaret) and Callum Scott Howells (Romeo & Julie).
Also presenting are Liz Carr, Matthew Bourne, Es Devlin (The Crucible, The Lehman Trilogy), Helen George (The King and I), Cush Jumbo, Meera Syal, Ronan Keating & Harriet Scott, Anne Reid (Marjorie Prime), Golda Rosheuvel, and Sindhu Vee.
The nominees up for Olivier Awards this year and attending the ceremony include Rose Ayling-Ellis, Jodie Comer, Arthur Darvill, Jean Paul Gaultier, Beverley Knight (Sylvia), Elliot Levey, Janet McTeer (Phaedra), Paul Mescal (A Streetcar Named Desire), Caroline Quentin, Clive Rowe, Sharon Small, Rafe Spall, Marisha Wallace (Guys & Dolls), David Tennant and Giles Terera.
The awards will be hosted by Hannah Waddingham (Ted Lasso), who will kick off the show with an opening number featuring an original song written by Pippa Cleary (The Great British Bake Off Musical, My Son’s A Queer, But What Can You Do?), and performed by a host of actors from West End shows.
Nominations for the Olivier Awards were announced on 28 February 2023, with the nominees celebration earlier this month handing out the Industry Recognition awards.
Highlights of the awards will be televised on ITV1 and ITVX on 2 April at 10:15pm, plus the full ceremony will be broadcast live from the Royal Albert Hall on Magic Radio from 6pm on the night, hosted by Ruthie Henshall and Alice Arnold.
