What is Matilda The Musical about?
Matilda follows the story of Matilda Wormwood, a bright little girl who loves to immerse herself in books. But Matilda is discarded and belittled by both her dimwitted parents — her father insists on calling her a boy and harps on about her “stupidity” for preferring reading to watching the telly – and her hostile headmistress, the wicked Miss Trunchbull.
Matilda may be reclusive but she has an ever-growing imagination and very sharp mind, and with caring teacher Miss Honey Matilda dreams of a better life, daring to take a stand against unjust forces and to grasp her destiny in her own, tiny hands.
