A guide to Summer West End shows in London, playing in 2022.
London is fabulous in the Summer, with the beautiful parks full of people, and London theatres full of West End Shows to attract locals and tourists.
We have put together a guide to what is playing in London theatre this summer, including a number of big musicals that are limited runs – and only playing during the Summer. These include the joyous classic musicals Anything Goes at the Barbican, South Pacific at Sadler’s Wells, My Fair Lady at the London Coliseum, and also Sister Act at the Eventim Apollo.
Long-running musicals that are playing during Summer 2022 include new shows Back to the Future at the Adelphi Theatre, Moulin Rouge! at the Piccadilly Theatre, Disney’s Frozen The Musical at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane; Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club, and Heathers at the Other Palace.
There are also plenty of star actors performing in plays in the West End this Summer, from Amy Adams in The Glass Menagerie at the Duke of York’s Theatre, to Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke in The Seagull at the Harold Pinter Theatre, and Stranger Things actor David Harbour in Mad House at the Ambassadors Theatre. Other plays that are new to the West End include The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe at the Gillian Lynne Theatre, and The Southbury Child starring Alex Jennings at the Bridge Theatre.
