‘Magic Mike Live’ to reopen in May 2021, with socially distanced performances

London’s sauciest live entertainment show Magic Mike Live will reopen at the Hippodrome Casino in May.

Conceived and co-directed by Hollywood star Channing Tatum the smash-hit dance show has been revamped to include new dance sequences and songs in a covid-secure environment.

The new show has already opened in Sydney Australia, where it is successfully playing to socially distanced audiences.

Executive Producer Vincent Marini said “We have been working to develop a show that prioritises the safety of our employees and guests but also manages to be as fun, electric and unexpected as ever. While it has been a creative challenge to make changes to the show we all love so much, we believe that the finished product, which has already been successfully launched in Sydney, will bring a great deal of joy to London at a time when it is sorely needed. We’re going to make the show’s return to the Hippodrome – after 14 long months away – absolutely epic.”

The show is promoting a new “Too Good To Be True” ticketing policy, which gives patrons unprecedented booking flexibility.

Marini said “We want our guests to know that they can book with confidence knowing they will never lose the value of their ticket. If they cannot attend the show for any reason, even on the day of the performance, all they need to do is contact us and we’ll rebook them or give them a refund… no questions asked.”

As an added incentive all tickets for performances from 21 May 2021 until 1 August 2021 will include complementary Prosecco!

Inspired by the films Magic Mike Live and Magic Mike XXL, the hot-under-the-collar dance show has been a stomping success in Las Vegas, Sydney and London. Launching in Vegas in 2017, the show has already been seen by a whopping 750,000 world-wide, with 200,00 in London alone.

Patrons with tickets from cancelled performances in 2020 and 2021 will be contacted by their point of sale to re-book dates.

Magic Mike Like is booking from 21 May 2021 until 29 December 2021 at the Hippodrome Casino, London.

Buddy Holly musical announces UK Tour

Celebrating its 30th anniversary, smash-hit rock ‘n’ roll musical Buddy – The Buddy Holly Story will tour the UK in 2019

Buddy will open at the Theatre Royal Plymouth on 3rd September 2019, playing for 1 week, before embarking on an extensive UK tour with venues and dates to be announced.

Adrian Vinken OBE, Chief Executive, Theatre Royal Plymouth said:

“We are proud that Buddy will be opening its 30th Anniversary Tour back here at the Theatre Royal Plymouth in 2019. Thirty years is an incredible achievement. The show was developed and started its life at the Theatre Royal Plymouth in 1989 and so this is very much the show’s ‘spiritual home’. Plymouth audiences have always loved to rock along to this show and the anniversary will be a major celebration.”

A critic and fan favourite, Buddy tells the enduring tale of the musical icon’s meteoric rise to fame and his final legendary performance at the Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake, Iowa, before his tragic and untimely death at the age of 22.

The musical features 20 of Buddy Holly’s greatest hits, including timeless classics That’ll Be The Day, Peggy Sue, Oh Boy and Rave On.

One of the first truly successful jukebox musical, the show has inspired a wave of multi-million selling juke-box musicals including Mamma Mia, Jersey Boys, We Will Rock You, Beautiful – The Carole King Musical and current West End favourite Tina – The Tina Turner Musical

Buddy premiered at the Theatre Royal Plymouth in 1989 before transferring to London’s West End where it played 5822 performances over 728 weeks. The 14 year West End run makes Buddy the 9th longest running musical in London’s West End and joins a small number of iconic musicals including Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, Miss Saigon, Evita and Cats in reaching a phenomenal three decades on stage.

Since leaving the West End Buddy has played a record breaking 4450 performances over 556 weeks on tour in the UK and Ireland and most recently completed a successful 6-month tour of the US & Canada.
