The new production of Irving Berlin’s musical Top Hat has confirmed casting for the show’s UK & Ireland tour.
Top Hat is directed and choreographed by multi-Tony award-winning director and choreographer Kathleen Marshall.
The musical is now playing at Chichester Festival Theatre until 6 September 2025, starring Phillip Attmore (Hello, Dolly) as Jerry Travers, Lucy St. Louis (Wicked) as Dale Tremont, Clive Carter (Moulin Rouge! The Musical) as Horace, and Sally Ann Triplett (Cabaret) as Madge.
The production is also scheduled to play London’s Queen Elizabeth Hall from 12 December 2025 to 17 January 2026.
The tour of Top Hat, which starts at Woking’s New Victoria Theatre on 18 September 2025, then visits venues including Milton Keynes, Edinburgh, Nottingham, London Wimbledon, Canterbury, Liverpool, Cardiff, Sunderland, Manchester, Sheffield, Glasgow, Eastbourne, Southend-on-Sea, Birmingham, Aberdeen, Norwich, Salford, and Southampton (See all tour dates and venues).

The UK & Ireland tour will see Phillip Attmore and Sally Ann Triplett reprise their roles.
Playing Dale Tremont will be West End star Amara Okereke (My Fair Lady, The Choral), who has also been confirmed for the London Queen Elizabeth Hall Christmas run of the show.
Playing Horace Hardwick will be James Hume (Kiss Me Kate), who takes over from Clive Carter. However, Clive will appear in the London Christmas performances.
Other leading cast, who are reprising their Chichester Festival Theatre performances, include James Clyde (Matilda the Musical) as Bates and Alex Gibson-Giorgio (Mamma Mia!) as Alberto Beddini.
The touring cast is completed by Lindsay Atherton, Rhiannon Bacchus, Jeremy Batt, Freddie Clements, Pedro Donoso, Bethan Downing, Autumn Draper, Tilly Ducker, Maddie Harper, Stuart Hickey, Laura Hills, Connor Hughes, George Lyons, David McIntosh, Jordan Oliver, Emily Anne Potter, Joe Press, Molly Rees Howe, Kirsty Sparks and Toyan Thomas-Browne.

This production of Top Hat boasts dazzling choreography, lavish sets, and Irving Berlin’s timeless score, and features classics such as Cheek to Cheek, Let’s Face the Music and Dance, and Puttin’ on the Ritz.

Marshall leads a creative team that includes set designer Peter McKintosh, costume designers Peter McKintosh and Yvonne Milnes, musical supervisor Gareth Valentine, musical director Stephen Ridley, orchestrator & arranger Chris Walker, lighting designer Tim Mitchell, sound designer Paul Groothuis, casting director Natalie Gallacher CDG for Pippa Ailion and Natalie Gallacher Casting, associate director Carol Lee Meadows and assistant director & choreographer Richard Pitt.
Based on the iconic 1935 film starring Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, Top Hat was adapted for the stage by Matthew White and Howard Jacques. The show’s 2013 West End run won the Olivier Award for Best New Musical and the Evening Standard Award for Best Night Out.
