The new production of Irving Berlin’s classic musical Top Hat is coming to London for a Christmas season.
Directed and choreographed by multi-Tony award-winning director and choreographer Kathleen Marshall, Top Hat is currently playing at Chichester Festival Theatre until 6 September 2025, and will then tour (See all tour dates and venues).
Top Hat will also come to London, playing the Southbank Centre’s Queen Elizabeth Hall from 12 December 2025 to 17 January 2026.
Alongside the Southank Centre run, Top Hat is also coming to London’s New Wimbledon Theatre from 14 to 18 October 2025.
The cast will include current stars Phillip Attmore (Hello, Dolly) as Jerry Travers, Clive Carter (Moulin Rouge! The Musical) as Horace, and Sally Ann Triplett (Cabaret) as Madge.
Lucy St. Louis (Wicked), who is currently playing Dale Tremont in Chichester and on tour, will not come to London with the show. Dale will be played by rising West End star Amara Okereke.
Amara Okereke is currently starring in ECHO at the King’s Head Theatre alongside Kyle Rowe. Amara is also starring alongside Ralph Fiennes in new Alan Bennett film The Choral. Her previous credits include starring as Eliza in My Fair Lady at the London Coliseum.

The Top Hat cast will also feature James Clyde as Bates and Alex Gibson-Giorgio as Beddini, plus Lindsay Atherton, Rhiannon Bacchus, Jeremy Batt, Freddie Clements, Pedro Donoso, Bethan Downing, Autumn Draper, Tilly Ducker, Laura Hills, Maddie Harper, Connor Hughes, James Hume, George Lyons, David McIntosh, Jordan Oliver, Emily Ann Potter, Joe Press, Molly Rees Howe, Kirsty Sparks and Toyan Thomas-Browne.
Top Hat is directed and choreographed by Kathleen Marshall, a three-time Tony Award winner known for her acclaimed revival of Anything Goes.
This production of Top Hat boasts dazzling choreography, lavish sets, and Irving Berlin’s timeless score, and features classics such as Cheek to Cheek, Let’s Face the Music and Dance, and Puttin’ on the Ritz. The show enjoyed solid reviews when it opened in Chichester last month.
Marshall leads a creative team that includes set designer Peter McKintosh, costume designers Peter McKintosh and Yvonne Milnes, musical supervisor Gareth Valentine, musical director Stephen Ridley, orchestrator & arranger Chris Walker, lighting designer Tim Mitchell, sound designer Paul Groothuis, casting director Natalie Gallacher CDG for Pippa Ailion and Natalie Gallacher Casting, associate director Carol Lee Meadows and assistant director & choreographer Richard Pitt.
Based on the iconic 1935 film starring Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, Top Hat was adapted for the stage by Matthew White and Howard Jacques. The show’s 2013 West End run won the Olivier Award for Best New Musical and the Evening Standard Award for Best Night Out.
Top Hat is running at Chichester Festival Theatre until 6 September 2025, and then touring. The show will play the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London from 12 December 2025 to 17 January 2026.
