Ralph Fiennes / Theatre Royal Bath season announced for 2025 including new David Hare play Grace Pervades & As You Like It starring Gloria Obianyo & Harriet Walter

The Theatre Royal Bath has announced a new season for next year programmed by actor and director Ralph Fiennes.

The Ralph Fiennes / Theatre Royal Bath season will take place from June 2025 and will feature stars including Gloria Obianyo and Harriet Walter.

The season opens with the world premiere of a new play by David Hare called Grace Pervades (27 June to 19 July 2025).

Starring Ralph Fiennes, the play will be directed by Jeremy Herrin (Long Day’s Journey Into Night), and is a co-production with his company Second Half Productions.

Grace Pervades tells the extraordinary story of Henry Irving and Ellen Terry, the greatest stars of the Victorian stage, and Ellen’s troubled and brilliant children – Edith Craig and Edward Gordon Craig – who made their own profound contribution to the development of British theatre. Ralph Fiennes will play Henry Irving.

The season then includes a revival of William Shakespeare’s As You Like It (15 August to 6 September 2025), directed by Ralph Fiennes and starring Ian Charleson Award winner Gloria Obianyo (King Lear) as Rosalind and Harriet Walter (House of Bernarda Alba, Succession) as Jaques.

Both productions will be designed by Bob Crowley, with further creatives to be announced along with further casting. Also additional shows in the season are going to be announced soon.

There are no current details on whether the partnership with Ralph Fiennes and the Theatre Royal Bath is long-running, or for only one season.

Recently playing at Theatre Royal Bath, in its Ustinov Studio, is Lindsay Posner’s new production of Arthur Miller’s A View From The Bridge starring Dominic West, which is coming to the West End’s Theatre Royal Haymarket in May 2024.

Ralph Fiennes is currently starring in Macbeth at Dock X in the London alongside Indira Varma.

Jeremy Herrin’s new production of Arthur Miller’s Long Day’s Journey Into Night is now playing at the Wyndham’s Theatre in London starring Brian Cox and Patricia Clarkson.
