Arthur Miller’s timeless masterpiece returns to the stage in a new production by Headlong Artistic Director, Holly Race Roughan.

Acclaimed stage and screen actor, Jonathan Slinger (Hamlet, Macbeth, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) will play the role of Eddie, alongside Nancy Crane (Inside Man BBC, Suspicion Apple TV, Summer & Smoke) who will be the first woman to play the role of Alfieri in a production that looks afresh at the psychology of the play and its gender politics.

A View From The Bridge is a co-production with HeadlongOctagon Theatre BoltonChichester Festival Theatre and Rose Theatre.

A View From The Bridge runs from 31 October to 11 November 2023 at the Rose Theatre Kingston.

What's the story of A View From The Bridge?

‘Every man’s got somebody that he loves, heh? But sometimes… there’s too much. You know? There’s too much and it goes where it mustn’t.’

On the Brooklyn waterfront, where the fierce passions of ancestral Sicily linger, the orphaned Catherine falls for her handsome, newly arrived cousin Rodolpho – an illegal migrant. Their romance is encouraged by her aunt Beatrice but stirs complex feelings in her uncle, Eddie Carbone. As tensions rise, their story spins inexorably beyond control.
