A new production of Arthur Miller’s A View from the Bridge starring Dominic West will transfer from the Theatre Royal Bath to London’s Theatre Royal Haymarket in May 2024.

Arthur Miller’s modern classic will come to London following an already sold-our run at Theatre Royal Bath’s Ustinov Studio, and play the Theatre Royal Haymarket from 23 May to 3 August 2024.

Directed by Lindsay Posner, A View From the Bridge stars BAFTA Award winner Dominic West (The Wire, The Crown, The Affair), and Olivier and Tony Award nominee Kate Fleetwood (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Macbeth, London Road), along with BAFTA Cymru Award winner Callum Scott Howells (It’s A Sin, Cabaret).

The cast also includes Nia Towle (The Ocean at the End of the Lane) and Martin Marquez (Hotel Babylon, Les Miserables) with further casting for the transfer to be announced.

The creative team also includes design by Peter McKintosh and lighting design by Paul Pyant.

Dominic West reunites with Lindsay Posner following projects together including Butley at the Duchess Theatre; and with Kate Fleetwood after projects include Life is a Dream at the Donmar Warehouse.

The production was first announced in November 2023, and further casting was revealed in December 2023. When the show first announced, Dominic West was widely quoted in the press as saying that he loved playing in regional theatres. He told the Guardian, “I just love doing plays. I am not in it for the glory or the pay. That [the Ustinov] is not the place to do it. I am in it I suppose just to reconnect with my passion.” He was also critical of West End ticket prices and audiences.

Pulitzer Prize-winner Arthur Miller is one of the most highly regarded American writers of the 20th Century, with work including All My Sons, Death of a Salesman, and The Crucible. A View from the Bridge is a passionate study of one man’s place in the close-knit Italian-American community in 1950s New York.

This production is produced by Theatre Royal Bath Productions with Len Blavatnik and Danny Cohen for Access Entertainment.

Coming soon to the Theatre Royal Haymarket is The Picture of Dorian Gray starring Succession’s Sarah Snook, from 6 February to 11 May 2024; and the return of popular children’s show The Tiger Who Came To Tea, from 1 July to 8 September 2023. Also announced for September is a new production of Waiting for Godot starring Lucian Msamati and Ben Whishaw.

A View From the Bridge will play the Theatre Royal Bath’s Ustinov Studio from 16 February to 16 March 2024, and then the Theatre Royal Haymarket from 23 May to 3 August 2024.
