Theatre History

Former National Theatre heads Nicholas Hytner and Nick Starr manage the Bridge Theatre, a brand new theatre built on the Southbank near City Hall.

The theatre is run through their London Theatre Company, which they founded in 2017 – the same year that the Bridge Theatre opened.

The Bridge focuses on commissioning and producing new shows, as well as staging a few classics.

The state-of-the-art auditorium can be changed depending on the style of the production, including end-stage, thrust-stage and promenade.
