The Menier Chocolate Factory in London has announced its new season for winter 2025 and into 2026.

The South London venue is reviving three plays – Fallen Angels by Noël Coward, The Holy Rosenbergs by Ryan Craig, and Equus by Peter Shaffer.

Fallen Angels

The new season opens with a revival of Noël Coward’s comedy Fallen Angels, directed by Christopher Luscombe (Travels with My Aunt, Fascinating Aïda), the first in London for 25 years and celebrating the 100th anniversary of the play.

Noël Coward’s outrageous comedy centres on best friends Jane and Julia. Both settled in happy marriages, they receive an unexpected visit from a glamorous shared ex-boyfriend, and passions are rekindled with explosive results.

Fallen Angels plays at the Menier from 21 November 2025 to 21 February 2026.

A new production of Fallen Angels is also opening at the Roundabout Theatre Company in New York next year, starring Rose Byrne and Kelli O’Hara, directed by Scott Ellis.

The Holy Rosenbergs

Next up, award-winning director Lindsay Posner (Endgame, Noises Off, The Truth) will direct two plays at the Menier.

Posner directs a revival of The Holy Rosenbergs by Ryan Craig (1984), from 27 February to 2 May 2026.

Ryan Craig’s play first premiered at the National Theatre in 2011, and is a timely and painfully pertinent drama about The Rosenbergs of Edgware, a family in crisis. Father David is desperately trying to save a failing catering business; mother Lesley is trying to save a failing husband, and their daughter Ruth is facing public vilification for investigating war crimes in Gaza for the UN. When tragedy strikes, the family is thrown into even deeper turmoil.

Equus

Lindsay Posner is also directing a revival of Equus by Peter Shaffer (Amadeus), from 8 May to 27 June 2026.

Equus is presented in a co-production with Theatre Royal Bath where the production will run after the Menier.

In Equus, what prompts a 17-year-old boy to blind six horses? This is the challenge presented to psychiatrist Martin Dysart as he delves into the psyche of his young patient Alan Strang to search for the answers and at the same time questioning whether the cure is more dangerous than the crime.

More Menier shows

This week, the Menier’s smash-hit revival of The Producers opened in the West End, having transferred to the Garrick Theatre starring Andy Nyman and Marc Antolin. Read a reviews round-up of The Producers.

In New York, the Menier’s recent production of Stephen Schwartz’s The Baker’s Wife, directed by Gordon Greenberg, is opening Off Broadway starring Ariana DeBose, Scott Bakula and Judy Kuhn.

Lindsay Posner’s new production of Samuel Beckett’s Endgame is currently playing at Theatre Royal Bath starring Douglas Hodge.

Artistic Director of the Menier Chocolate Factory David Babani said in a statement: “It’s been quite a week for the Menier with our production of The Producers opening in the West End, and now announcing a season of British classics for our home in Southwark. These three wonderful plays – Fallen Angels, The Holy Rosenbergs and Equus – tackle the very contemporary and compelling themes of the power of female friendship; faith and tradition in the core of the Jewish community, and the exploration of the human psyche.”
