It’s ALIVE! Comedy genius Mel Brooks’ Broadway musical Young Frankenstein comes to London
Mel Brooks and Susan Stroman, creators of the world-wide hit The Producers bring their re-imagined Broadway production of Mel Brooks’ Young Frankenstein to the London stage.
Featuring new material and hit songs “The Transylvania Mania,” “He Vas My Boyfriend” and “Puttin’ On The Ritz,” The New Mel Brooks Musical Young Frankenstein is scientifically-proven, monstrously good entertainment!
Young Fankenstein The Musical will run from 28 September 2017 until 25 August 2018 at the Garrick Theatre.
WHAT’S THE STORY?
A wickedly inspired re-imagining of the Frankenstein legend based on Mel Brooks’ classic comedy masterpiece, the story follows bright young Dr. Frankenstein (that’s Fronkensteen) as he attempts to complete his grandfather’s masterwork and bring a corpse to life.
Together with his oddly shaped and endearing helper Igor (that’s Eye-gor), his curvaceous lab assistant Inga, and in spite of his incredibly self-involved madcap fiancé Elizabeth, Frankenstein succeeds in creating a creature — but not without scary and quite often hilarious complications.
WHO’S IN IT? YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN CAST
Hadley Fraser (The Winter’s Tale, City of Angels) leads the cast as Young Frankenstein, with Lesley Joseph (Bird’s of a Feather) playing Frau Blucher.
The cast also features Dianne Pilkington (Wicked), Summer Strallen (Top Hat, The Sound of Music) and Patrick Clancy (The Producers, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat).
Written by Mel Brooks and Tom Meehan, with Mel Brooks and Susan Stroman co-directing.
