Royal Shakespeare Company | London 2027 | West End

Looking for Game of Thrones London tickets? Here’s everything you need to know about the highly anticipated stage production of Game of Thrones: The Mad King.

The Royal Shakespeare Company presents the world premiere of this epic new play based on the novels by George R. R. Martin, adapted by Duncan Macmillan and directed by Dominic Cooke.

After a sell-out run of Game of Thrones: The Mad King at the Royal Shakespeare Company this summer in Stratford Upon Avon, the company announced a 2027 London transfer, though the dates and venue are yet to be confirmed.

George R.R. Martin, creator and executive producer, said he had “an absolutely splendid time” at the Stratford-upon-Avon premiere and was “thrilled the production will be moving to London to share the experience with a wider audience,” promising “an exhilarating journey” ahead.

London audiences start planning for a theatrical event worthy of the Seven Kingdoms.

Is Game of Thrones: The Mad King in London?

At present, the Royal Shakespeare Company has confirmed that there will be a London transfer, but has not confirmed the dates or venue yet.

About Game of Thrones: The Mad King

“Enter the world before.”

Set more than a decade before the events of A Song of Ice and Fire and the HBO series, this new stage epic explores the final years before rebellion grips Westeros.

At a grand tournament at Harrenhal, the great houses — Targaryen, Stark, Lannister, Baratheon and Martell — gather under one roof. As celebration turns to suspicion, whispers of treason grow within the Mad King’s inner circle. Family loyalty, ancient prophecy and dynastic ambition collide in a sweeping drama that reveals a defining chapter of Westerosi history.

The production played a completely sold-out season at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon, running from 8 August to 5 September 2026.
