The RSC has announced full casting for its London transfer of Shakespeare’s Titus Andronicus directed by Max Webster, coming to Hampstead Theatre in London for a strictly limited autumn season.
Titus Andronicus will play at Hampstead Theatre from 5 September to 11 October 2025.
The RSC’s new production of Shakespeare’s Titus Andronicus, directed by Max Webster, is transferring from Stratford-upon-Avon to London for a limited season.
Already announced, the production will once again star Olivier, Tony and BAFTA award-winner Simon Russell Beale in the title role. The cast also sees the return of Emma Fielding (A Suite in Three Keys, Orange Tree) as Marcia Andronicus, and Wendy Kweh (Much Ado About Nothing, National Theatre) as Tamora.
Announced today is Ken Nwosu (White Noise, Bridge Theatre; As You Like It, National Theatre) as Aaron; and reprising her role from the RSC will be Letty Thomas (As You Like It, RSC) as Lavinia.
They are joined by Jeremy Ang Jones as Demetrius, Max Bennett as Saturninus, Marlowe Chan-Reeves as Chiron, Danny Collins as Martius / Messenger, Maximus Evans as Quintus / Aemilius, Thomas Josling as Bassianus / Publius, Joel MacCormack as Lucius, Jerone Marsh-Reid as Alarbus / Leader of the Goths, and Sharita Oomeer as Nurse / Goth. The part of young Lucius is shared between Charlie Banks and Osian Salter.
The production is directed by award-winner Max Webster (Life of Pi, Macbeth starring David Tennant), whose National Theatre revival of The Importance of Being Earnest is coming to the West End’s Noël Coward Theatre next month starring Stephen Fry as Lady Bracknell, and Olly Alexander.
Max Webster’s bold and brilliant production of Shakespeare’s bloodiest play is examined through the lens of 21st century aggression. When victorious general Titus Andronicus executes his enemy’s son in a merciless show of vengeance, he has no idea of the evil his actions will incite. As the two sides trade violent acts of retribution, one man revels in the bloodbath.
The creative team for Titus Andronicus also includes set and costume designer, Joanna Scotcher; lighting designer, Lee Curran; composer, Matthew Herbert; sound designer, Tingying Dong; movement director, Jade Hackett; fight and intimacy directors, Rachel Bown-Williams and Ruth Cooper-Brown; and casting director, Matthew Dewsbury CDG. The revival director is Kwame Owusu.

The production marks Simon Russell Beale’s return to Hampstead Theatre after his acclaimed appearances in Tom Stoppard’s The Invention of Love and Mr Foote’s Other Leg.
Simon Russell Beale has won three Olivier Awards for his performances in Uncle Vanya (Donmar Warehouse), Candide and Volpone (National Theatre). Simon has also won a Tony Award for his performance in the National Theatre’s The Lehman Trilogy on Broadway. On screen, Simon was most recently seen in HBO’s hit series House of the Dragon. He has received two BAFTAs for his performances in the BBC’s The Hollow Crown: Henry V Parts 1 and 2 and A Dance to the Music of Time, as well as a British Independent Film Award for his performance in The Death of Stalin.
