Get tickets to Hamlet at the National Theatre in London

Olivier Award-winner Hiran Abeysekera (Life of Pi) stars as Hamlet in a bold new production of Shakespeare’s greatest tragedy, coming to the National Theatre this autumn.

This much-anticipated revival offers a fearless, stylish, and darkly funny take on Shakespeare’s tale of revenge, madness, and mortality. And Abeysekera’s Hamlet promises to be a performance for the ages.

Directed by Robert Hastie (Standing at the Sky’s Edge, Operation Mincemeat), the National Theatre’s new Deputy Artistic Director, this fresh interpretation promises to bring the play into sharp contemporary.

A formidable supporting cast includes Ian Charleson Award-winner Francesca Mills as Ophelia, Alistair Petrie (Sex Education) as Claudius, Geoffrey Streatfeild (Spooks) as Polonius, and Siobhan Redmond (Doctor Who) as First Player.

Don’t miss this gripping retelling of Shakespeare’s timeless tragedy — where betrayal, grief and the ghosts of the past collide on stage at one of London’s most prestigious venues.

Hamlet is playing at the National Theatre from 25 September to 22 November 2025.
