The creators of West End and global hit musical Six, Toby Marlow & Lucy Moss, have written a new show, which is opening at the West End’s Garrick Theatre this August 2024.
Their new show, Why Am I So Single? A Big Fancy Musical, is coming to the Garrick Theatre from 27 August 2024.
A public workshop for the musical took place last year, and the project has been teased throughout this month.
The show is billed as a musical extravaganza about love, dating, friendship – and bees – exploring the weird and wonderful hilariousness of being single.
Why Am I So Single? follows two best friends through the ups, and mostly downs, of their dating lives in the era of Tinder (and Bumble and Grindr and Hinge and Feeld), asking how two super interesting, super cool, super fun pals could possibly still be single?!?
The cast for the musical will include Jo Foster (& Juliet; Just For One Day) returning to the show following the workshop, alongside Leesa Tulley (SIX, Kin), and Noah Thomas (Everything Now, Everybody’s Talking About Jamie). Other cast are to be confirmed.

Why Am I So Single? is directed by Lucy Moss; the Choreographer is Ellen Kane; the Orchestrator, Vocal Arranger and Musical Supervisor is Joe Beighton; the Set Designer is Moi Tran; Max Johns is the Costume Designer; the Lighting Designer is Jai Morjaria; the Sound Designer is Paul Gatehouse; and the team is completed by Future Cut as music production, and Phoebe Bath as Production Manager, and casting direction by Harry Blumenau and Sarah-Jane Price from Harry Blumenau Casting.
The show is produced by Kenny Wax (SIX, The Play That Goes Wrong, Mind Mangler), Ameena Hamid (The Wiz, Bonnie & Clyde) and George Stiles (Mary Poppins, Half A Sixpence).
Writers Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss said in a statement: “This is ultimately a musical about two friends, their desire for love, and how they deal with loneliness. We hope people come away feeling super uplifted. And we hope they text someone the second they leave the theatre saying ‘omigosh just fyi i love you soooo much!!!!””
