Sister Act The Musical back to the West End starring Beverley Knight, Alexandra Burke

The smash-hit production of Sister Act The Musical is heading back to the West End.

The show will open at the Dominion Theatre in London from 15 March 2024, running to 31 August 2024.

The lead role of Deloris Van Cartier will be played by Olivier Award-winning star Beverley Knight, reprising her performance following a sensational run in London last Summer.

Beverley Knight is starring in the show from 15 March to 8 June 2024.

Then, musical theatre star Alexandra Burke will take over the role, from 10 June to 31 August 2024.

Beverley Knight won an Olivier Award last night, 2 April 2023, for her performance as Emmeline Pankhurst in Sylvia at The Old Vic. She also has an Olivier nomination for her role in The Drifter’s Girl at The Garrick Theatre.

Beverley is also a judge on ITV’s talent show Starstruck, and her other West End credits include Memphis The Musical, The Bodyguard and Cats.

Alexandra Burke was most recently seen on stage as The Narrator in Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at the London Palladium. Her other theatre credits include The Bodyguard.

The show is based on the hit movie starring Whoopi Goldberg, and is directed by Bill Buckhurst, with choreography by Alistair David, Set and Costume Design by Morgan Large, Musical Direction by Neil MacDonald, Lighting Design by Tim Mitchell, Sound Design by Tom Marshall and Musical Supervision by Stephen Brooker. Casting is by Stuart Burt.

Sister Act boats original music by Tony and 8-time Oscar winner Alan Menken (Disney’s Aladdin, Enchanted), lyrics by Glenn Slater, book by Bill and Cheri Steinkellner with additional book material by Douglas Carter Beane. SISTER ACT is produced by Jamie Wilson, Gavin Kalin, Kevin McCollum and Curve.
