Song From Far Away is written by Olivier Award winner Simon Stephens (The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night–Time) and celebrated singer/songwriter Mark Eitzel.

This emotional play is an unforgettable story about a man in New York returning home to Amsterdam after the death of his younger brother.

Originally staged at HOME in Manchester, Song From Far Away is playing a limited run at Hampstead Theatre from 28 June – 22 July 2023.

One crisp winter day in New York, Willem receives a phone call – it’s time to go home.

Home to Amsterdam – to an estranged family and forgotten relationships. As he reflects on his life, unwilling to face the future, he finds himself reaching out to the brother he has lost.

This emotional play is an unforgettable story and a personal letter to those left behind.
