Will Young in Song From Far Away transfers to Hampstead Theatre

Will Young is set to return to the London stage this summer, to star in Song From Far Away at Hampstead Theatre.

Direct from a critically acclaimed run at HOME Manchester earlier this year, Will Young will reprise his role in Song From Far Away at Hampstead Theatre from 28 June to 22 July 2023.

The show marks the multi-award-winning singer/songwriter and actor’s first stage role for a decade. Will Young’s previous theatre credits include Strictly Ballroom The Musical, Cabaret and The Vortex, though he is best known for his pop career. He also appeared in the film Mrs Henderson Presents.

Young was due to star in a Bill Kenwright revival of A Thousand Clowns in 2020, however this was put on hold due to the pandemic.

Written by Olivier award winner Simon Stephens (The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night–Time) and Eitzel (lead singer of American Music Club), Song From Far Away follows a New York-based man who is forced to return home to Amsterdam after receiving a significant phone call.

The show first premiered at the Young Vic in 2015 starring Eelco Smits with direction by Ivo van Hove.

Directed by Kirk Jameson (Love Story) this new revival of the 85-minute play is co-produced by Thomas Hopkins, Guy Chapman and HOME.

Song From Far Away will run at Hampstead Theatre from 28 June to 22 July 2023.
