Tony and Olivier Award-winning musical Dreamgirls is on its way back to Broadway in a brand-new production, directed and choreographed by Camille A. Brown. Could the West End be it’s next stop?

Dreamgirls in London – the latest news

Smash hit musical Dreamgirls hasn’t been seen in the West End since 2019, and with news of an upcoming Broadway revival, speculation about a West End run is high.

A London transfer has not been confirmed, nor have a West End venue or dates have been announced, so a transfer is purely rumour at this stage.

The new Broadway production is directed and choreographed by five-time Tony Award nominee Camille A. Brown and is produced by Sonia Friedman, Sue Wagner, John Johnson and LaChanze Productions.

With a book and lyrics by Tom Eyen and music by Henry Krieger, this captivating musical features iconic numbers like ‘And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going’, ‘I Am Changing’ and ‘One Night Only’.

London last saw the show at the Savoy Theatre in 2016, in a Sonia Friedman production that starred Amber Riley and won two Olivier Awards, including Best Actress in a Musical for Riley.
