Award-winning West End show Matilda The Musical is returning to China for a third national tour from February to August 2026.
The tour is produced by GWB Entertainment in association with the Royal Shakespeare Company.
Matilda’s first visit to China in 2019 broke all box office records, and the 2026 run of the show will mark the 15th anniversary of its international tour.
Behind the headline: The success of the RSC’s stage adaptation of Roald Dahl’s classic story Matilda should never be underestimated. This new tour in China demonstrates the global appeal of the Matilda brand, and why the show is now the 10th longest-running musical in West End history! But also how the story of an exceptionally bright young girl using her intelligence and bravery to overcome challenges continues to be a timely, important and inspiring message for children and families around the world.
The acclaimed musical also continues to play at London’s Cambridge Theatre in the West End, starring Jon Robyns as Miss Trunchbull, Tiffany Graves as Mrs Wormwood, Neil McDermott as Mr Wormwood, and Eve Norris as Miss Honey.
