Casting has been announced for the London return of new musical Midnight by Todrick Hall.

Midnight is playing at Sadler’s Wells East theatre, from 20 February to 8 March 2026.

This will be the second public workshop presentation of the show, following a successful run in 2025.

Midnight is written and directed by singer, songwriter and performer Todrick Hall (Burlesque the Musical, Shrek, Chicago), with Hall also returning to the show to star as Rail.

The cast will also see the return of Rachel Tucker (Wicked) as Charlotte, Ayana George (MJ The Musical) as Ethel, and Charlotte Jaconelli (Burlesque, Into the Woods) as Violet.

They will be joined by Olivier Award nominee Marisha Wallace (Cabaret, Guys & Dolls) as Happy, Olivier Award winner George Maguire (Burlesque, Sunny Afternoon) as Sylvester, and Ahmed Hamad (Just For One Day) as Squeak,

The company also includes Jeremy Beloate as Richard, Rachel Webb as Lily Rose, Maia Gough as Scarlet, Isaac J Lewis as Harry, Nick Rashad Burroughs as Horace, and Brandon Lee Sears as Rehearsal Rail.

Set in the American South during the nineteenth century, Midnight is billed as a sweeping story of love, conflict, and the search for understanding. The sung-through musical explores empathy and identity through powerful music and drama, with a message that we cannot choose the roles we are given in life, but we can choose how we play them.

The score blends gospel, rhythm and blues, classical, pop, rock, opera, folk, and traditional musical theatre.

Joining Todrick Hall in the creative team are lighting designer Rory Beaton and sound designer Sound Quiet Time, with musical supervisor Mark Crossland, casting director Harry Blumenau, casting associate Laura Seaborn, associate choreographer Jenni Thomasson, associate director Charlotte Jaconelli, musical director Laurence Stannard, and assistant musical director Miguel Esteban.

Todrick Hall recently directed, choreographed and starred in Burlesque the Musical at London’s Savoy Theatre in the West End.
