Broadway’s Electrifying new musical heads to London
Nominated for 10 Tony Awards, Michael Jackson’s unique and unparalleled artistry is brought to life on stage in London in a brand-new show, MJ The Musical.
Created by Tony Award-winning Director/Choreographer Christopher Wheeldon (An American in Paris, After The Rain) and two-time Pulitzer Prize winner Lynn Nottage (Ruined, Sweat), with music by Michael Jackson, this smash-hit Broadway transfer is opening at the Prince Edward Theatre in London in Spring 2024.
Centred around one moment in time, as Jackson prepares for his accalimed 1992 Dangerous World Tour, MJ features over 25 Michael Jackson hits including Beat It, I’ll Be There, Don’t Stop ’till You Get Enough, Earth Song, Billie Jean, Smooth Criminal, Thriller, Man in the Mirror and Black of White.
MJ The Musical will open at the Prince Edward Theatre on 6 March 2024. Tickets on sale 24 May 2023.

MJ The Musical has a book by two-time Pulitzer Prize winning writer Lynn Nottage (Ruined, Sweat).
The show is directed and choreographed by Christopher Wheeldon OBE, who is a Royal Ballet Associate Artist, and won the Tony Award for Best Choreography of a Musical for MJ on Broadway. His previous directing credits include An American in Paris.
Scenic Design is by Tony Award and two-time Emmy Award winner Derek McLane (Moulin Rouge! The Musical), Lighting Design by six-time Tony Award-winner Natasha Katz (Once), Costume Design by Tony Award and Emmy Award winner Paul Tazewell (Hamilton), Sound Design by Tony Award and Olivier Award winning Gareth Owen (Come From Away), Projection Design by two- time Tony Award nominee Peter Nigrini (Dear Evan Hansen), and Hair & Wig Design by two-time Emmy Award nominee Charles LaPointe (The Color Purple). Musical Supervision is by Tony Award nominee David Holcenberg (Matilda The Musical), and the Orchestrations and Arrangements are by David Holcenberg and Tony Award winner Jason Michael Webb (The Color Purple).
