The new production of Irving Berlin’s musical Top Hat has announced a casting update for the show’s UK & Ireland tour.
Directed and choreographed by multi-Tony Award-winning director and choreographer Kathleen Marshall, Top Hat recently played at London’s Queen Elizabeth Hall.
The show is now back on tour, with forthcoming dates including Sheffield from 20 January 2026, and then Dublin, Glasgow, Eastbourne, Southend, Birmingham, Aberdeen, Norwich, Salford, and Southampton. See all tour dates and venues.
Joining the UK and Ireland tour cast is West End star Emma Williams (Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Scissorhandz) as Madge, taking over from Sally Ann Triplett (Cabaret).
Emma joins a cast including Phillip Attmore (Hello, Dolly!) as Jerry Travers, Amara Okereke (My Fair Lady, The Choral) as Dale Tremont, and James Hume (Kiss Me, Kate) as Horace, James Clyde (Matilda the Musical) as Bates and Alex Gibson-Giorgio (Mamma Mia!) as Alberto Beddini.
The touring cast is completed by Zak Edwards, Lindsay Atherton, Rhiannon Bacchus, Jeremy Batt, Freddie Clements, Pedro Donoso, Bethan Downing, Autumn Draper, Tilly Ducker, Maddie Harper, Stuart Hickey, Laura Hills, Connor Hughes, George Lyons, David McIntosh, Jordan Oliver, Emily Anne Potter, Joe Press, Molly Rees Howe, Kirsty Sparks and Toyan Thomas-Browne.
This production of Top Hat boasts dazzling choreography, lavish sets, and Irving Berlin’s timeless score, and features classics such as Cheek to Cheek, Let’s Face the Music and Dance, and Puttin’ on the Ritz.

Kathleen Marshall leads a creative team that includes set designer Peter McKintosh, costume designers Peter McKintosh and Yvonne Milnes, musical supervisor Gareth Valentine, musical director Stephen Ridley, orchestrator & arranger Chris Walker, lighting designer Tim Mitchell, sound designer Paul Groothuis, casting director Natalie Gallacher CDG for Pippa Ailion and Natalie Gallacher Casting, associate director Carol Lee Meadows and assistant director & choreographer Richard Pitt.
Based on the iconic 1935 film starring Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, Top Hat was adapted for the stage by Matthew White and Howard Jacques. The show’s 2013 West End run won the Olivier Award for Best New Musical and the Evening Standard Award for Best Night Out.
