The annual Black British Theatre Awards has announced the date and venue for this year’s awards.

Back for their seventh year, the Black British Theatre Awards celebrate the best of UK theatre’s black talent.

This year’s awards ceremony will be held on Sunday evening, 26 October 2025, at the West End’s Piccadilly Theatre, home to Moulin Rouge! The Musical.

This star-studded night celebrates black stage excellence and influence throughout the UK’s theatre community, and will feature performances from some of the best West End and UK shows, and a great line-up of famous presenters and hosts.

Last year’s winners, announced at a ceremony at the Lyceum Theatre, included Danny Sapani, Namron, Tiwa Lade, Joshua-Alexander Williams, Freema Agyeman, Ivano Turco, Karis Anderson, Elèna Gyasi, Marley Fenton, and Layton Williams.

Winning shows included MJ The Musical and Choir Boy. Check out photos from last year’s awards.

The awards are organised by co-directors and founders of the Black British Theatre Awards, Omar F Okai FRSA and Solange Urdang OBE. This year’s awards are sponsored by ATG Entertainment and presented in partnership with Moulin Rouge! The Musical, Global Creatures, and Playful Productions.

The Black British Theatre Awards 2025 are held at the Piccadilly Theatre in London on Sunday 26 October 2025.

Tickets for the ceremony go on sale on Friday 22 August 2025.
