Red Speedo is a tense new thriller played at the breakneck pace of an Olympic sprint.

This new play by Lucas Hnath, one of America’s most exciting new playwrights, tackles the unforgiving weight of success in a world where the only crime is getting caught.

Red Speedo features Peaky Blinders star Finn Cole in the main role of Ray, alongside Fraser James, Parker Lapaine and Ciarán Owens.

The UK premiere of Red Speedo is directed by award-winner Matthew Dunster (2:22 A Ghost Story, Shirley Valentine).

Red Speedo is currently playing the Orange Tree Theatre in London from 13 July to 10 August 2024. There’s currently no information on a West End transfer for Red Speedo, but check back for details or sign-up for alerts

What is Red Speedo about?

Ray lives to swim. He is within touching distance of international glory and a life-changing sponsorship deal. But everything changes when performance-enhancing drugs are discovered in the club’s refrigerator. As tensions run high, Ray’s brother wants them destroyed, his coach wants to call the authorities, his ex-girlfriend doesn’t want to know, and Ray wants the drugs back.
