Direct from its sold-out run at the Menier Chocolate Factory, Tony and Olivier award-winning director Trevor Nunn’s ‘exuberant revival’ (The Telegraph) of the classic Broadway musical Fiddler on the Roof transfers to the West End for a strictly limited run.
The Playhouse Theatre will be specially transformed into an immersive space for this ‘shiveringly intimate chamber musical about family’ (The Times).
Featuring the iconic score including ‘Tradition’, ‘Matchmaker, Matchmaker’, ‘Sunrise, Sunset’ and ‘If I Were a Rich Man’, and packed with Jerome Robbins’ original Tony award-winning choreography, Fiddler On The Roof ‘bursts from the stage’ (Financial Times), bringing new life to one of the most beloved musicals of all time.

Jay Raynor to host ‘An Evening With Andy Nyman’
Food critic, writer and broadcaster Jay Raynor will host 'An Evening With Andy Nyman' this December in which the award winning actor, writer and director will discuss his extensive career on the stage, screen, as a playwright and in magic.
The one-off event will raise money for a local primary school in north London.
Nyman is currently playing the role of Tevye in Trevor Nunn’s smash-hit revival of Fiddler on the Roof at the Playhouse Theatre in the West End. He can also be seen giving a star performance in Judy, director Rupert Goold's critically acclaimed and Oscar tipped bio-pic film about Judy Garland starring Renee Zelwegger.
Nyman's theatre credits include Martin McDonnagh’s Hangman, Abigail's Party and the international hit show Ghost Stories, which he co-wrote and directed with Jeremy Dyson. The play, which returns to the West End this month, was subsequently turned into a film starring Nyman, Martin Freeman, Alex Lawther & Paul Whitehouse.
Andy Nyman's screen credits include films The Commuter, Death at a Funeral, Kick-Ass 2; and for televisionHanna, Wanderlust, The Eichmann Show, Psychobitches, Campus, Crooked House and Dead Setas well as his highly acclaimed performance as Winston Churchill in Peaky Blinders.
Andy will also talk about his extensive work with the world of magic, including twenty years of writing and directing Derren Brown in his TV and theatre shows.

Anita Dobson and Maria Friedman join West End musical Fiddler on the Roof
New casting has been announced for Trevor Nunn’s West End production of Fiddler on the Roof.
EastEnders alum Anita Dobson (Annie, Wicked) and Olivier Award-winner Maria Friedman (Passion, Ragtime) will take on the roles of Yente and Golde respectively from 18 June 2019.
Nunn’s five-star revival of the classic Broadway musical currently stars Andy Nyman (Ghost Stories, Hangmen) as Tevye, Broadway star Judy Kuhn as Golde and Louise Gold as Yente.
A defiant portrait of resilience, Fiddler on the Roof follows the joyous and heart-breaking story of the poor Russian-Jewish milkman Tevye, his wife and five daughters. When three of his strong willed daughters wish to marry for love, he must grapple with this loss of tradition and the scattering of his family.
First performed on Broadway in 1964, the show won 9 Tony awards and became the first musical theatre run in Broadway history to surpass 3,000 performances.
The musical features well-known songs including "Tradition", "Matchmaker, Matchmaker", "Sunrise, Sunset" and "If I Were a Rich Man".
