Birth; marriage; death. And everything in between.
“Do any human beings ever realise life as they live it? Every – every, minute?”
Thornton Wilder’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play celebrates what it means to be human, the bonds that hold communities together, and our relationships with the ancient past and the eternal tomorrow.
Last performed at the Almeida Theatre in 2014, Thornton Wilder’s iconic American play is directed by Ellen McDougall.
Our Town will run from 16 May 2019 until 18 June 2019 at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre, London.
WHAT’S THE STORY?
This deceptively simple story exposes the stark truth of human existence as two people fall in love, marry, and live out their lives as a small American town becomes an allegory for everyday life.
