Welsh National Theatre has released the first production photos of Our Town, starring Michael Sheen.
This new production of Thornton Wilder’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play is the first show from the newly launched Welsh National Theatre, and is directed by Francesca Goodridge (Nye).
Our Town stars screen and stage star Michael Sheen (Nye, Good Omens) as Stage Manager.

The wider cast of Our Town includes Rithvik Andugla as Howie Newsome, Peter Devlin as George Gibbs, Aisha-May Hunte as Wally Webb, Rebecca Killick as Rebecca Gibbs, Alfie Llewellyn as Joe & Si Crowell, Rhodri Meilir as Mr. Webb, Christina Modestou as Mrs. Soames, Yasemin Özdemir as Emily Webb, Glyn Pritchard as Constable Warren, Sian Reese-Williams as Mrs. Gibbs, Nia Roberts as Mrs. Webb, Kingdom Sibanda, Gareth Snook as Professor Willard & Joe Stoddard, Matthew Trevannion as Dr. Gibbs, and Rhys Warrington as Simon Stimpson.
The show is currently playing at Swansea’s Grand Theatre until 16 January 2026, and then plays Venue Cymru from 3 to 7 February 2026, Theatr Clwyd from 11 to 21 February 2026, and then London’s Rose Theatre in Kingston from 26 February to 28 March 2026.
Welsh National Theatre was announced last January by Michael Sheen, with the aim to create world-class work from Wales and take it to the world, bringing together Welsh talent to create ambitious theatre which makes the country’s story come alive.
Award-winning screenwriter Russell T Davies is the creative associate on the show, which is executive produced by Pádraig Cusack.
The wider creative team includes Designer Hayley Grindle; Movement Director Jess Williams; Lighting Designer Ryan Joseph Stafford; Composer, Sound Designer & Musical Director Dyfan Jones; Casting Director Sam Jones CDG; and Stiwdio Clwyd Assistant Director Dena Davies.
