Casting has been announced for the forthcoming, re-worked new production of cult musical Eugenius! at the Turbine Theatre in London. The talented young cast is led by Elliott Evans (Kiln) as Eugene, Jaina Brock-Patel (Six The Musical) as Janey, and James Hameed (Be More Chill) as Feris. Other cast in the show include Naomi Alade (Beautiful – The Carole King Musical) as Eugenie (Swing), Dominic Andersen (What’s New Pussycat?) as Gerhard/Tough Man/Dad, Joseph Beach (Ortistic Augasm) as Evil Lord Hector, Lara Denning (Matilda) as Lex, Louis Doran (Bugsy Malone) as Eugenie (Swing), Maddison Firth (Heathers The Musical) as Carrie/Super-Hot Lady, Sebastian Harwood (Treason The Musical In Concert) as Eugenie (Swing) and Rhys Taylor (Everybody’s Talking About Jamie) as Theo/Space Diva. This high-energy, 80s-inspired British musical is written by Ben Adams and Chris Wilkins, and centres on geeky schoolboy called Eugene, who dreams of getting his fictional superhero made into a Hollywood film and of finding true love. The show has a pulsating soundtrack, and is an hilarious love letter to the iconic movies, comic books and nostalgia of the 1980’s. This new production is directed by Hannah Chissick, with musical direction by Nick Pinchbeck, Set and lighting design by Andrew Exeter, sound design by Alistair Penman, video by Andy Walton, and choreography by Aaron Renfree. The Turbine Theatre in London has announced that it is presenting a reworked version of cult musical Eugenius! The high-energy, 80s-inspired British musical is written by Ben Adams and Chris Wilkins. The musical was going to get a West End transfer in 2018 from The Other Palace to the Ambassadors Theatre, but producers couldn't get full investment for the production and so it was cancelled. In 2020, producers streamed archive footage of the show during the Covid pandemic to raise money for the Acting for Others charity. The musical comedy is about a geeky schoolboy called Eugene who dreams of getting his fictional superhero made into a Hollywood film and of finding true love. The show has a pulsating soundtrack, and is an hilarious love letter to the iconic movies, comic books and nostalgia of the 1980’s. Eugenius! the Musical will receive a surprise West End transfer when it opens at The Ambassadors Theatre later this month. The super-hero styled musical comedy will replace Foxfinder which had been due to run until early January but is now set to close on 20 October 2018. Described as a thrilling, high-energy 80s-inspired British musical with a superhero-sized heart and uplifting score, Eugenius! tells the story of Eugene, a geeky teenage boy and avid comic book fan with dreams of getting a superhero he’s created on the silver screen. Eugenius! the Musical is produced by actor Warwick Davis and has a book, music and lyrics by Ben Adams and Chris Wilkins. On the West End transfer, Davis said: “We are thrilled to present Eugenius! in the West End - what an incredible, epic journey we have been on. We tweaked, tickled, tightened and super-charged it, adding a new song and created Super Fan Sundays, giving our wonderful fans the opportunity to meet and quiz the cast and creative team. The musical began life with a concert performance at the London Palladium in mid 2016 before runs at The Other Palace in London in 2017, earlier this year, and is currently in the middle of a third run.
