News about Eugenius! The Musical

London’s Turbine Theatre to stage two new musicals this Summer
The Turbine Theatre at Battersea Power Station South London will stage two new musicals this Summer: Halls and Faking Bad - The Unauthorised Parody Methsical. First up will be Halls, a new musical directed by Andy Fickman (Heathers) and written by Jennifer Harrison and George Stroud. Running from 7 July - 23 September, the show centres on eight first-year universtiy students from different background and upbringins who are brought together when they are allocated the same flat in Halls of Residence. The show features an upbeat, contemporary, pop-rock soundtrack that mirrors the sense of nostalgia that the show evokes. Halls was previously performed at MTFest 2022 in workshop form and is now staged in the next course of its developemnt. It won't be the finished product but will have all the elements (sound/lighting/set/costume etc ) there to give you an idea of what the show will be in a more realised scenario as opposed to it feeling ‘finished’. The second production will be Faking Bad - The Unauthorised Parody Methsical, based on the hit TV series Breaking Bad. Written by Rob Gathercole and directed by Andrew Beckett, the show runs at the Turbine Theatre from 17 August to 23 September 2023. The production features actor-musicians who, against the backdrop of an old industrial tunnel, condense the epic story of a lost chemistry teacher into a one act musical comedy. This all singing, all dancing methsical contains a ridiculous array of musical styles and theatrical tropes to speed through 62 hours of television in under 90 minutes, with the promise to keep the audiences laughing, on this joyous ride through the desert! They promise it won’t be dry and there will be Mexican hats…maybe maracas! Casting for both production is to be announced. The Turbine is currently home to Eugenius!, running until 28 May 2023.
