The Donmar present Phyllida Lloyd’s all-female production of The Tempest with Harriet Walter playing Prospero.

This autumn Phyllida Lloyd completes her all-female Shakespeare Trilogy with a staging of The Tempest.

Harriet Walter plays Prospero in Shakespeare’s epic evocation of the consequence of confinement and the eternal struggle for liberation and justice.

Loyd’s ground-breaking all-female production of Julius Caesar and Henry IV will be revived with all three productions running over a 13 week repertory season.

On special Donmar Shakespeare Trilogy days, all three plays will be performed back to back.

These productions have been one of the defining projects of the Donmar’s recent history. Their boldness of vision and invigorating energy has given audiences a new perspective on Shakespeare’s work and changed the landscape of theatre as we know it.

Shakespeare Trilogy will be staged in a purpose built, 420 seat in-the-round performance space in King’s Cross.

The Tempest runs from 17 September until 17 December at the King’s Cross Theatre.
