It’s the one that you want! Secret Cinema has announced that Grease: The Immersive Movie Musical is bopping back to Battersea Park in London this summer after a successful run in 2025.
Last summer, immersive experience company Secret Cinema transformed Evolution London in Battersea Park into Rydell High, with live music, themed food and drink, and a summer fairground.
Grease: The Immersive Movie Musical is now coming back for 2026, playing at Evolution London from 22 July to 13 September 2026.
News: Secret Cinema to open permanent flagship home at Greenwich Peninsula.
Grease was Secret Cinema’s first-ever full show experience, bringing the hit musical to life over two-and-a-half hours with a full cast of 30 actors, singers and dancers, performing songs from the show on multi-screen platforms.
The experience opened to a number of positive reviews from London’s critics – read a round-up of press reviews here.
Casting for the 2026 edition is to be announced.
How does the experience work?
The Grease experience aims to blur the lines between screen and reality, with audiences watching the original movie on giant screens across the venue alongside fully-staged productions of all the songs, including ‘You’re The One That I Want’, ‘Beauty School Dropout’, ‘Greased Lightnin’, ‘Look At Me I’m Sandra Dee’, ‘Summer Nights’, and ‘We Go Together’.
Every corner of the venue is transformed into locations from the movie and musical, including Frosty’s Palace, The Beauty School, The Carnival, The Gym, The Autoshop and La Cafury Beauty School.
The creative team
The original creative team is reuniting for this year’s experience, including direction by Olivier Award-winning actor, aerialist and creative director Matt Costain, and choreography by double Tony Award nominee Jennifer Weber (& Juliet).
The creative team also includes set design by Tom Rogers, lighting design by Howard Hudson, sound design by Olivier Award-winner Gareth Fry, and video design by Ian William Galloway.
Immersive experience vs. UK Tour
The return of Grease: The Immersive Movie Musical is not to be confused with the traditional stage musical of Grease.
As we revealed over the weekend, the Curve Leicester production of Grease is also heading out on a new UK and Ireland tour in 2027.
