The Society of London Theatre has announced nominations for this year’s Olivier Awards 2026.

The landmark 50th-anniversary ceremony of the Olivier Awards is set for 12 April 2026 at the Royal Albert Hall, with Nick Mohammed serving as the evening’s host.
Big winners from this year’s nominations include two new musical productions – Paddington The Musical at the Savoy Theatre, which had its world premiere in December 2025; and Jordan Fein’s revival of Sondheim’s Into the Woods at the Bridge Theatre.
Both musicals each scored 11 nominations.
Into the Woods’ extensive list of nominations includes Best Musical Revival, Jamie Parker for Best Actor in a Musical, and Katie Brayben for Best Actress in a Musical.
Paddington The Musical was nominated for Best New Musical, alongside James Hameed and Arti Shah sharing the Best Actor in a Musical nomination, and a Best Director nod for Luke Sheppard.
The race for Best New Musical features Paddington alongside Here We Are, Shucked, and The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry.
Joining Into the Woods in the Best Musical Revival category are American Psycho (Almeida Theatre); Evita (The London Palladium); and The Producers (Garrick Theatre).
Honours for Plays
In terms of plays, All My Sons at the Wyndham’s Theatre starring Bryan Cranston, and Kenrex and Stereophonic each scored six nods.
The Best Revival category showcases acclaimed productions of All My Sons, Arcadia, Much Ado About Nothing, and The Seagull.
The Best New Play award nominations feature Ava Pickett’s 1536 (Almeida Theatre / Ambassadors Theatre), Suzie Miller’s Inter Alia (National Theatre / Wyndham’s Theatre), Jack Holden’s Kenrex (The Other Palace) and James Graham’s Punch (Young Vic & Apollo Theatre).
Other high scorers
In terms of other shows that scored multiple Olivier Awards nominations, Jamie Lloyd’s revival of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Evita at the London Palladium got five nominations, including Best Actress for Rachel Zegler. However, Jamie Lloyd was overlooked for Best Director.
The Menier Chocolate Factory’s production of The Producers – which is now playing at the West End’s Garrick Theatre, scored four nominations; as did James Graham’s powerful play Punch, which recently ran in the West End.
Double nominees
- Zachary Hart has earned two nods in the same category – Best Actor in a Supporting Role – for his performances in both Stereophonic and The Seagull.
- Sean Hayes (Will & Grace) is also nominated twice, for Best Actor, and Outstanding Musical Contribution for his live piano performance of Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue in Good Night, Oscar
- Tom Scutt is a dual nominee for Best Set Design and Best Costume Design for his work on Into the Woods.
Acting awards
Best Actress nominations went to Cate Blanchett (The Seagull), Marianne-Jean Baptiste (All My Sons), Julia McDermott (Weather Girl), Rosamund Pike (Inter Alia) and Rosie Sheehy (Guess How Much I Love You?).
For musicals, the Best Actress in a Musical category saw nominations for Rachel Zegler (Evita), Katie Brayben (Into The Woods), Danielle Fiamanya & Georgina Onuorah (Brigadoon), Jane Krakowski (Here We Are), and Jenna Russell (The Unlikely Pilgrimage Of Harold Fry), and
Best Actor nominees are Bryan Cranston (All My Sons), Sean Hayes (Good Night, Oscar), Tom Hiddleston (Much Ado About Nothing), Jack Holden (Kenrex) and David Shields (Punch).
Best Actor in a Musical nominations went to Marc Antolin and Andy Nyman (The Producers), Diego Andres Rodriguez (Evita), James Hameed & Arti Shah (Paddington The Musical), and Jamie Parker (Into The Woods).
