Producers of the forthcoming Singapore production of Beetlejuice The Musical have cancelled the show.

Beetlejuice was scheduled to run at the Esplanade Theatre in Singapore, from 15 January 2026, produced by the Michael Cassel Group and Warner Bros. Theatre Ventures.

A note on the venue’s website says that the production “has been cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances. We apologise sincerely for the inconvenience caused.”

Andy Karl was cast as Beetlejuice. He first played the role last month in the show’s Middle East premiere at the Etihad Arena, Yas Island.

Michael Cassel has also produced Beetlejuice in Melbourne and Sydney, and the musical is also now back on Broadway and set for a forthcoming London run in May 2026 at the West End’s Prince Edward Theatre.

Casting for the London production of Beetlejuice is to be announced.

Andy Karl recently starred as the Duke in Broadway’s Moulin Rouge! and cult Off-Broadway musical Teeth. In London, he twice starred in Groundhog Day: The Musical at The Old Vic theatre.

Drawing on Tim Burton’s beloved 1988 film, Beetlejuice The Musical follows gothic teen Lydia Deetz, a recently deceased couple, and a flamboyant demon who’s more than fond of black‑and‑white stripes.

Directed by two-time Tony Award-winner Alex Timbers (Moulin Rouge! The Musical, Just in Time), Beetlejuice features music and lyrics by Eddie Perfect with a book by Scott Brown and Anthony King.

The creative team also includes Choreography by Connor Gallagher (The Robber Bridegroom), Music Supervision, Orchestrations and Incidental Music by Kris Kukul (Joan of Arc: Into the Fire), Additional Arrangements by Kris Kukul and Eddie Perfect, Scenic Design by David Korins (Hamilton), Costume Design by William Ivey Long (The Producers), Lighting Design by Kenneth Posner (Kinky Boots), Sound Design by Peter Hylenski (Moulin Rouge!), Projection Design by Peter Nigrini (Dear Evan Hansen), Puppet Design by Michael Curry (The Lion King), Special Effects Design by Jeremy Chernick (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child), Illusions by Michael Weber (Forrest Gump), Hair & Wig Design by Charles G. LaPointe, Make-Up Design by Joe Dulude II, and Dance Arrangements by David Dabbon, Music Producer Matt Stine.
