Pop star Lily Allen is no longer involved in the much-discussed new musical version of Bridget Jones’s Diary.
She had been penning the music and lyrics for the book-to-screen-to-stage adaptation of Helen Fielding’s best-selling novel.
Lily Allen told Dan Wootton in The Sun that, “I wrote some great music for it but Helen Fielding wants to go back and write a whole new story. It’s been a long-term project and I was happy to do my bit but I’m now out of the picture.”
There is no news on who else is writing for the show, which is meant to see the Billy Elliot dream team of director Stephen Daldry and choreographer Peter Darling realise the show.
