Full casting has been announced for the new West End cast of Stranger Things: The First Shadow at the Phoenix Theatre in London.
The new cast join the show from 12 November 2025.
Earlier this month, Stranger Things: The First Shadow extended its booking period in London, and is now playing until 5 April 2026.
Based on the award-winning Netflix series, Stranger Things: The First Shadow started on 14 November 2023 at the West End’s Phoenix Theatre, and is about to go into its third year in London.
The new cast of Stranger Things
Already announced for the new cast are Jack Christou (Matilda The Musical) as Henry Creel, Stewart Clarke (Les Misérables) as Dr Brenner, Avril Maponga (Witness for the Prosecution) as Patty Newby, Max Potter (A Monster Calls) as Bob Newby, Adam Wadsworth (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child) as James Hopper Jr. and Edie Wright (Stranger Things: The First Shadow) as Joyce Maldonado.
They will be joined by new-starters Maximillian Graham as Alan Munson, Anastasia Koloko as Sue Anderson, Joshua McElroy as Lonnie Byers, Grace Alice Murray as Claudia Yount, Tom O’Brien as Ted Wheeler, Freya Taylor-Lester as Karen Childress, and Andrew Whipp as Chief Hopper.
They will join current cast members Ammar Duffus as Charles Sinclair, Jack Gardner as Walter Henderson, Andy Langtree as Victor Creel, Lauren O’Neil as Virginia Creel and Rufus Wright as Principal Newby.
Alternating in the role of Alice Creel are current cast members Maya Guinoubi and Tabitha Morley, joined by Phoenix Hamer and Emilia Rose.
Completing the company are Lola Adaja, Bronte Alice-Tadman, Aoife Browne, Kaylah Copeland, Alex Dargie, Adéoré Edwards, Vanessa Fisher, Kieran Garland, Ross Green, Brandon Kimrayo, Ben Skym, Leah St Luce, Stanley Treshansky and Selena Thompson.

The current cast of Stranger Things: The First Shadow will finish their run on 9 November 2025.
The show stars Louis Healy (Emmerdale, The Pact, The Full Monty) as Henry Creel, Callum Maxwell (Peter Pan) will play Bob Newby, Miranda Mufema (Romeo & Juliet) will star as Patty Newby, Luke Mullins (Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead) as Dr Brenner, Jessica Rhodes (Doubt: A Parable) as Joyce Maldonado, George Smale (AS-NT) as James Hopper Jr and Shane Attwooll (Wonder Woman 1984) as Chief Hopper.

Stranger Things: The First Shadow is also now playing on Broadway at the Marquis Theatre in New York, starring London’s original Henry Creel, Louis McCartney (Game of Thrones).
Based on the Netflix series Stranger Things created by the Duffer Brothers, Stranger Things: The First Shadow is written by Kate Trefry (Netflix’s Stranger Things), and has an original story by the Duffer Brothers, award-winning writer Jack Thorne (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, The Motive and the Cue), and Kate Trefry.
The London production scored an Olivier Award win for Best Entertainment at the 2024 Olivier Awards, and fantastic reviews from the London theatre critics, with four and five stars across the board from all the major critics. The show also scored three Tony Awards on Broadway.
Stranger Things: The First Shadow is directed by Stephen Daldry and co-directed by Justin Martin. The creative team also includes set design by Miriam Buether, costume design by Brigitte Reiffenstuel, lighting design by Jon Clark, sound design by Paul Arditti, original music composition, orchestration, arrangements and supervision by D.J. Walde, illusions design & visual effects by Jamie Harrison & Chris Fisher, video design & visual effects by 59, choreography by Coral Messam, movement direction by Lynne Page, wigs, hair and make-up design by Campbell Young Associates, technical director is Gary Beestone for Gary Beestone Associates, and casting by Jim Carnahan.
Stranger Things: The First Shadow is now playing at the Phoenix Theatre, booking to 5 April 2026.
