The first songs have been released from Calamity Jane starring Carrie Hope Fletcher, prior to its UK and Ireland tour.

The major new tour is also billed as heading to the West End, although no further details have been given on venue or dates.

Songs released today from the show are both solos by West End star Carrie Hope Fletcher (Cinderella, Heathers, The Addams Family, Les Misérables), who plays the title role of Calamity Jane in the much-loved show, immortalised on screen by Doris Day.

The songs released are ‘The Deadwood Stage (Whip-Crack-Away)’ and Oscar-winning song ‘Secret Love’.

Other classic songs in Calamity Jane include The Black Hills of Dakota, and Just Blew in From the Windy City.

The tour kicks off at Aylesbury Waterside Theatre on 14 January 2025, and then visits Manchester, Southend, Sunderland, Woking, Leeds, Wales, Birmingham, Nottingham, Brighton, Norwich, Edinburgh, Liverpool, York, Wimbledon, Canterbury, Southampton, Sheffield, Stoke, Blackpool, Glasgow, Leicester, Plymouth, Hull, Milton Keynes, Truro, Dublin, Llandudno, Bradford, Wolverhampton, Bromley, and Bristol. Joining Carrie Hope Fletcher in the cast are Vinny Coyle as Wild Bill Hickok, Luke Wilson as Danny, Seren Sandham-Davies as Katie Brown, Peter Peverley as Henry Miller, Hollie Cassar as Susan, Isaac Savage as Francis Fryer, Molly-Grace Cutler as Adelaide Adams, Richard Lock as Rattlesnake, Ben Mabberley as Hank and Stage Door Keeper, Fergus Murphy as Joe and Harry, Tomas Wolstenholme as Buck, Claire Greenway as Doc.

The cast is completed by swings Emma Jane Morton, Lara Lewis, Jacob Leeson, Theo Diedrick and Stephen Scott Stark.

Originally staged at the Watermill Theatre, this new touring production is directed by Nikolai Foster (An Officer and a Gentleman, Kinky Boots), with co-direction and choreography by Nick Winston (Shrek The Musical, Burlesque The Musical), orchestrations and music supervision by Catherine Jayes (The Color Purple, Merrily We Roll Along), set and costume design by Matthew Wright (Everyone’s Talking About Jamie, Evita), lighting design by Tim Mitchell, sound design by Ben Harrison, and casting by Debbie O’Brien.

The show is adapted for the stage by Charles K. Freeman from a screenplay by James O’Hanlon, and boasts music by Sammy Fain, lyrics by Paul Francis Webster, and orchestral and vocal arrangements by Philip J. Lang.

Carrie Hope Fletcher and the cast of Calamity Jane are set to perform at the National Lottery’s Big Night of Musicals next month at the AO Arena in Manchester, to be broadcast on the BBC.
