A promo shoot for Urinetown at St James Theatre starring Richard Fleeshman
Cult Broadway musical Urinetown is currently in rehearsals in London, for a 22 February 2014 start date at the St James Theatre.
A hugely talented cast includes Richard Fleeshman (Ghost) as Bobby Strong, Jenna Russell (Merrily We Roll Along) as Penelope Pennywise, Marc Elliot (EastEnders) as Mr McQueen, and Jonathan Slinger (RSC’s Hamlet) as Officer Lockstock.
The show is directed by Jamie Lloyd (The Commitments), with music and lyrics by Mark Hollmann and book and lyrics by Greg Kotis.
Set in a city in the future, a terrible drought has enabled tycoon Caldwell B. Cladwell to make billions through bribery and a monopoly on all public toilets. Those found disobeying the law are sent to Urinetown, a place that you never return from. That is until an unlikely hero tackles the greed and corruption in this witty musical that wowed New York and is set to take London by storm.
