2025 Olivier Award Winner – Best Director for Eline Arbo

The Almeida Theatre’s acclaimed production of The Years transfers to Londons’ West End for a strictly limited season at the Harold Pinter Theatre from 24 January 2025.

Deborah Findlay (Orlando), Gina McKee (Dear England), Anjli Mohindra (Noises Off), and Harmony Rose-Bremner (Hamnet) reprise their “extraordinary performances” (Observer) in The Years, joined by Tuppence Middleton (The Motive and the Cue). Together, they portray a single woman in this mesmerising, deeply personal, and politically charged story set against the backdrop of a rapidly changing world.

The Years is Nobel Prize winner Annie Ernaux’s critically acclaimed “masterpiece” (The Guardian), brought to life on stage in a new English version by Stephanie Bain, adapted from De jaren by Eline Arbo, and directed by Internationaal Theater Amsterdam’s new Artistic Director Eline Arbo.

Five different actors bring one woman’s personal and political story to life, set against the backdrop of a rapidly changing post-war Europe.

Book The Years tickets now – don’t miss this landmark adaptation of Annie Ernaux’s critically acclaimed semi-autobiographical novel.

The Years is playing at the Harold Pinter Theatre from 24 January 2025 until 19 April 2025.

Memory never stops. It pairs the dead with the living, real with imaginary beings, dreams with history.
