Fawlty Towers – the greatest British sitcom of all time (Radio Times) is brought to life in an hilarious new West End stage play, adapted by comedy legend John Cleese.
Following a sold-out run last year, Fawlty Towers is back in the West End for a strictly limited season. With critics hailing the show “hilarious” (Sunday Times) and “hugely entertaining” (Times), don’t miss this nostalgic trip back to the 70’s, featuring an 18-strong cast taking on all of the iconic characters at Torquay’s most chaotic hotel – Fawlty Towers!
Fawlty Towers stars Danny Bayne (Only Fools and Horses The Musical) as Basil Fawlty, Mia Austen (Ludwig) as Sybil, Hemi Yeroham (La Cage Aux Folles) as Manuel, Joanne Clifton (Shrek The Musical) as Polly, Paul Nicholas (Just Good Friends) as The Major, and Helen Lederer (Absolutely Fabulous) as Mrs Richards.
Based on three episodes from the original TV series – ‘The Hotel Inspector’, ‘The Germans’ and ‘Communication Problems’, Fawlty Towers The Play features many of your favourite scenes from the unforgettable sitcom.
Experience this classic comedy live on stage for some nostalgic, feel good fun. Book tickets now.
Fawlty Towers The Play ran at the Apollo Theatre in London from 24 June to 13 September 2025.
Fawlty Towers is also touring the UK and Ireland – BOOK TICKETS >
Following a tip off that hotel inspectors may be visiting and eager to impress, Basil attempts to ingratiate himself with guests that he suspects are there to critique the establishment. The situation is further plagued by a party of Germans, the deaf and dotty guest-from-hell, Mrs Richards, whose infuriating complaints prevent him from hiding a gambling win from his ever vigilant and bossy wife, Sybil. Together they run their hotel with a little help from the unflappable Polly, and very little help at all from Manuel, the trainee waiter from Barcelona who is the butt of Fawlty’s frustration.
