February brings a host of new theatre shows to London’s West End.
A host of shows are starting their runs in London this month – from big musicals, to small fringe theatre, opera, dance, starry plays, and everything in between.
Some of the starriest shows coming to town this month include stage and screen actress Sophie Okonedo in a revival of Greek classical drama Medea at the brand new @sohoplace theatre (from 11 February); TV star Sarah Parish in new play Trouble in Butetown at the Donmar Warehouse (from 10 February); and much-loved actress Sheridan Smith in Willy Russell’s Shirley Valentine (main picture) at the Duke of York’s Theatre (from 17 February).
Big musicals coming to London in February 2023 include the smash-hit revival of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Oklahoma! – coming from the Young Vic to the Wyndham’s Theatre (from 16 February); a limited run in the West End of Meatloaf musical Bat Out of Hell at the Peacock Theatre (from 17 February); and The Great British Bake Off Musical, coming to the Noel Coward Theatre (from 25 February) starring John Owen Jones and Haydn Gwynne.
