American stage, screen and voice actor Andrew Rannells recently starred in the world premiere of Tammy Faye – A New Musical at the Almeida Theatre in London.

Andrew Rannells is best known for originating the role of Elder Kevin Price in the 2011 Broadway musical The Book of Mormon, for which he received a Tony Award nomination for Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Musical and Drama Desk Award nomination for Outstanding Actor in a Musical. The production won the Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album.

Andrew made his Broadway debut in 2002 when he assumed the role of Link Larkin in Hairspray.

Other theatre roles include; The Boys in the Band; Falsettos, where he was nominated for his second Tony Award – Best Performance by a Featured Actor in a Musical); Hamilton (temporarily replacing Jonathan Groff); Hedwig and the Angry Inch (Broadway);and Jersey Boys.

Tammy Faye – A New Musical looks at the true story of rise, fall and redemption of US TV evangelists Tammy Faye who, with her husband Jim Bakker, revolutionised religion in America via television. The new musical features music by Elton John (Disney’s The Lion King), lyrics by Jake Shears of the Scissor Sisters, and a book by acclaimed playwright and screenwriter James Graham (Best of Enemies, Ink, BBC’s Sherwood).
