New production photos are in for Matilda The Musical at the Cambridge Theatre in London, to celebrate the 11th anniversary of the smash-hit musical in the West End.
New cast members joined the show earlier this month, including Lauren Byrne as Miss Honey, Rakesh Boury and Amy Ellen Richardson as Mr and Mrs Wormwood, and Victoria Alsina, Laurel Sumberg and Heidi Williams sharing the role of Matilda along with existing cast member Maisie Mardle.
Existing cast members Elliot Harper as Miss Trunchbull and Landi Oshinowo as Mrs Phelps are also pictured in the new photos.
Matilda The Musical recently extended its run at the Cambridge Theatre to December 2023. The show started running at the Cambridge Theatre on 18 October 2011, and is now celebrating its 11th birthday in London’s West End.
Based on Roald Dahl’s much-loved book, Matilda The Musical is written by Dennis Kelly, with music and lyrics by Tim Minchin and developed and directed by Matthew Warchus. The show is designed by Rob Howell, with choreography by Peter Darling, orchestrations, additional music and musical supervision by Christopher Nightingale, lighting by Hugh Vanstone, sound by Simon Baker and special effects and illusions by Paul Kieve.
A new film version of the stage show starring Emma Thompson and Andrea Riseborough comes to cinemas in the US on 2 December 2022, and it’s out on Netflix on 25 December 2022.
