The Last Ship in London
The Last Ship, from musical icon Sting, lands at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane on 22 September 2026 in a newly reimagined production, following a hugely successful run in Amsterdam, Brisbane and Paris.
Inspired by Sting’s childhood in a ship building town and pulling in some of his popular music including ‘Island of Souls,’ ‘All This Time,’ and ‘When We Dance,’ The Last Ship follows a community of shipbuilders faced with a looming threat: the foreclosure of the shipyard, which would destroy their entire way of life. One key figure in the story, Jackie White (Sting), knows his guidance is needed now more than ever, but with his failing health, can he be the leader he knows his community needs?
Sting will star in the West End run, and reggae icon Shaggy will co-star as Wallsend Ferryman for 22 September and 23 September 2026 only.
The Last Ship welcomes the audience into the heart of the shipbuilding community, exploring the deeply personal connection Sting has with the world he grew up in.
Book The Last Ship tickets
The Last Ship arrives at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane from 22 September – 3 October.
Rooted in his own childhood in the British shipbuilding town of Wallsend, The Last Ship tells the moving story of a community of shipbuilders in the north east of England, faced with the closure of their shipyard – the heart of their existence. The shipyard’s foreman, Jackie White, is also dealing with his failing health just when his leadership is needed most.
In this very personal show, the artist immerses the audience in the hometown he was desperate to escape, a world where love, loss, and hope intertwine. The show also features Sting’s beloved songs such as ‘Island of Souls,’ ‘All This Time,’ and ‘When We Dance’ are woven into the performance in this fully staged, large-scale production featuring a company of over 50.
