Production photos of Sting’s reimagined musical, The Last Ship, have been released, showing Sting and the cast in the production that’s playing at Theatre Royal Drury Lane until 3 October 2023, following hugely successful runs in Amsterdam, Brisbane and Paris.
The Tony Award-nominated show is inspired by Sting’s own childhood in the British shipbuilding town of Wallsend, and follows a community of shipbuilders faced with the foreclosure of their shipyard – the heart of their existence. Sting himself stars as Jackie White, the shipyard’s foreman, whose guidance is needed now more than ever as his failing health takes its toll.

A deeply personal production
The Last Ship immerses audiences in the hometown Sting was once desperate to escape, a world where love, loss and hope intertwine. The musical also weaves in some of Sting’s own beloved songs, including Island of Souls, All This Time and When We Dance, in a fully staged, large-scale production featuring a company of over 50 people.
Reggae icon Shaggy joined the production as Wallsend Ferryman for two performances only, 22 and 23 September, and the show is directed by Leo Warner, with set and video design by 59, a Journey studio, and a book by Barney Norris.
