Screen stars Josh Radnor (How I Met Your Mother) and Noah Galvin (Theater Camp, Dear Evan Hansen) are set to make their highly anticipated London stage debuts this summer in the premiere of Jonathan Caren’s explosive new play, Hit Machine. Khalil Madovi (This Is What The Journey Does, Deep Azure) also joins the cast as Defy, a fast-rising, once-in-a-generation hip-hop talent who is trying to straddle commercial success with the sound that launched him.
The production will run at Soho Theatre in London from 9 July to 15 August 2026.

A battle of brotherhood and beats
Hit Machine is billed as an emotionally charged collision between two estranged brothers: one a powerhouse hit-maker and the other a flailing musician.
Bound by a bruised childhood, and divided by their differing levels of success, the pair are forced into a final, desperate collaboration.
The new play explores themes of brotherhood and male violence, creative theft, and the cost of turning personal pain into art.
Josh Radnor is the breakout star of hit TV comedy How I Met Your Mother, with other TV credits including Hunters, opposite Al Pacino, and the critically acclaimed Fleishman Is in Trouble.
Noah Galvin is a star of both stage and screen, having written, produced and starred in Theater Camp on film, and starred in Dear Evan Hansen on Broadway.
Khalil Madovi is an award-winning music artist, composer, writer, actor and filmmaker. Most recently, he performed in Chadwick Boseman’s Deep Azure at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre.

Written by Jonathan Caren (The Recommendation, Boots), the play features original music by three-time Grammy Award-winner Ben Harper. The story uses song as the brothers fight for control over their shared past.
Directed by former Bush Theatre Associate Artistic Director Daniel Bailey (Red Pitch), Hit Machine arrives in London following a successful development journey in the US. The play was a finalist for the Eugene O’Neill 2025 National Playwrights Conference and was featured in IAMA’s New Works Fest and The Working Theater’s Stage Left Festival.
The show is produced by Spiral Stairs Entertainment in association with Soho Theatre, BPM Theatrical, and Kater Gordon.
